Karl started appearing with this white Telecaster in 2012, replacing his earlier black one. This guitar is played on the In Schwarz tour, both by Karl and by Steffen, and appears to have been retired after around 2015. It is a Fender '62 Telecaster, realeased for the 60 year anniversary of the Telecaster in 2011, as part of the Telecaster Tele-bration series. Even though the Telecaster has existed since 1950, it was first named Broadcaster. After a trademark conflict with Gretsch' Broadkaster (a drum set), Fender renamed the guitar as Telecaster in 1951. This model is based on the first Telecaster Custom that came out in the early 60s with a bound body. Specifications
