This is another of Karl's vintage guitars, and a favourite of his in recent years. He was first seen with it in 2017, and is now playing it often at concerts. We can date this guitar confidently to the 1982 - 1984 Squier JV '57 Stratocaster in 2-tone Sunburst using the very large font of the Stratocaster decal on the headstock. This feature is unique to these guitars. The 2-tone sunburst was the first colourway that Squier (Fender) offered for its Japanese-made '57 Vintage Stratocasters. In 1983, several other colourways joined it. Athough Squier nowadays is the 'cheap' Fender, the early Japanese-made Squiers were on par with American-made Fender guitars quality-wise.
