This very classic looking Telecaster is one Karl's most often played guitars. The first appearance is in 2014, and he is still playing it often as of 2023. The only thing that differentiates it from an American Fender Telecaster is the bold Squier Telecaster decal on the headstock. This identifies this guitar very specifcally as a Squier JV Telecaster from late 1982 - 1984, 1952 style. These guitars were one of the first Japanese made models by Fender. Fender started producing in Japan in 1982 for the domestic market, and shortly afterwards under the Squier brand for the export market. The Squier brand was more cost effective than the American-made Fenders. However, back then the Squier JVs were of high quality, equal to American-made ones.
